Ordinary Grace Series
Ordinary Grace is part of the Series under the Same Sky Exhibition created by Seattle-based artist, Anne Livingston, and was created by Kim Wihak as part of the Slow Colour Residency Art Project that sprung out of the Exhibition. The Exhibition will open on Anne's YouTube channel on Friday, April 11 at 10am PDT.
Ordinary Grace explores the delicate boundary between the natural world and human presence in rural landscapes. Each painting captures a moment of transition: a threshold where wilderness and civilization meet in quiet conversation.
Ordinary Grace reveals what might initially appear as unremarkable roadways as profound spaces of contemplation. These everyday scenes from rural and small-town prairie landscapes contain a quiet poetry, inviting viewers to consider how we navigate between natural and human-made worlds, and how these spaces shape our sense of place and belonging.
Through this series, Kim invites viewers to pause and recognize the grace present in these threshold spaces -- the places we pass through but rarely truly see, where the ordinary transforms into something sacred through the simple act of attention.
